foreUP Employee Highlight: Jeff Jensen, User Experience Designer

Every month, Marketing chooses an employee to highlight. We ask them to explain who they are, what they do, and why they do what they do. 

For February, we asked Jeff Jensen, who is a foreUP software User Experience Designer. We think he's great, and once you read his message below, we know you will too! 

Say hello to Jeff! 

During the week, if you can't find him in the foreUP office, he's likely setting an example for the rest of us by using his breaks to take long walks with his headphones in to soak in the beautiful Utah mountain views and vibrant seasonal colors. 

Hey, I’m Jeff Jensen. I work in foreUP’s Product team as a User Experience Designer.


Interviewer: What do you do at foreUP?

Jeff: My job is to make foreUP as easy to use as possible by designing it to fit the needs of your golf course.

I research and call courses to see how they like the software, and collect opinions on how we can improve. I then design solutions to problems you all are facing, and then reach out again to ensure that those proposed solutions solve those problems.

Jeff recently got engaged to the love of his life, Sotia Chheng, who he's been with for two years. Marital bliss begins March 17th! 

So, when you see those “How are we doing on a scale from 1-10?” pop ups in the software, those come from us on the product team. And we use your feedback, complaints, and how you are using the software to figure out ways to improve the system.

I’m also in charge of the self-service support system. Ideally, our software is designed in such a way that you don’t need a tutorial. (Click Read More to continue.)

When you’re two years old, one year represents 50% of your life.
When you’re 50, though, one year represents only 2% of your life.

This, they say, is why time seems to fly faster with every year you’ve lived. Thus, the things you do with each year are that much more meaningful as they shape so much and get seemly shorter and shorter!

While no one is perfectly efficient, we feel that our contribution to the year’s value is achieved by working tirelessly each and every day to be the best we can be. But what did our hard work achieve?

A Letter from foreUP Founder and CEO

12 Days of Christmas, foreUP News

I hope you will forgive me for hijacking foreUP’s 12th day of Christmas.

I feel the need to share how much I truly respect and look up to each and every one of you. Running a golf course is not easy, it requires long hours, and at times is beyond stressful. You work from dawn to dusk. A simple 40-hour work week isn’t something you’ve seen in years. Tuesday you’re greeting customers in the pro shop, Friday you’re in your office organizing an 80-person tournament, and on Saturday you’re on the 13th fairway fixing a broken sprinkler head. You do it all, and it’s inspiring. This kind of work ethic isn’t often found in other industries and among other professionals. Thank you for being the example that powers the motivation within foreUP.

foreUP Announces Integrated Wireless Inventory Auditing

Lindon, Utah, September 14 – foreUP Inc. has released a complete rebuild of the Inventory Audit solution built into their cloud-based golf course management software. This will allow foreUP facilities much more flexibility and efficiency when doing regular inventory audits on products they sell in their pro shops.

The updated solution boasts many enhancements, from mobile optimization to bluetooth barcode scanning.
